[May 2011] Lombard, one of the UK's leading providers of asset finance, has announced it will be continuing its support of the Lashings World XI tour in 2011. The Lashings team, captained this year by former English cricketer, Phil DeFreitas, will be appearing at venues across the South of England throughout the summer, culminating in a game against the House of Commons XI on Sunday 4th September.
Alexander Baldock, Managing Director of Lombard, says, "Lombard is proud to continue its affiliation with Lashings World XI in what is our 150th anniversary year. The event not only provides the opportunity to see some excellent cricket but generates support for worthwhile causes from local projects to global initiatives."

Lashings has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for a broad range of charities, including the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, Cystic Fibrosis, MENCAP and Our Forgotten Children.
