Chester, 18th May 2009 – Chester Textile Services, an independent contract laundry and linen hire business, has invested £500k to boost its production capacity after securing funding from Lombard and NatWest's commercial banking team in Chester.
The company, which supplies linen to the majority of hotel chains across the North West, has installed a new production line that will increase capacity by 250,000 garments per week. They now operate four production lines at their Chester base.
Chester Textile Services was established in 1885 and acquired by its present owners, the Hunt family, in 1979. It remains a family run concern and specialises in contract laundry and linen hire, plus the hire of workwear for protective clothing various industry sectors.
Its clients include the North West's only five star hotels, national chains and independent hotels throughout the North and Midlands. Chester Textile Services employs 200 people and the directors are confident the new production line will bring an increase in turnover.
Nigel Hunt, Chief Executive of Chester Textile Services, said:
"We have made this investment because our future growth strategy is based upon increasing our production capacity
to handle more work from our clients. We were approaching full capacity on site and therefore it was essential to
install the new line now."
Paul Brookes from Lombard and Alastair Newall from NatWest in Chester provided the funding.

by investing in new technology. This investment will undoubtedly strengthen their production process and help them
maintain an edge in the market."
