RBS Portsmouth Appoints New Head
Portsmouth, June 2008 – The Royal Bank of Scotland ("RBS") has appointed a new head, Steve Cheaney, Director to its Portsmouth and Isle of Wight Commercial Banking teams. The teams support customers and local businesses with a turnover of £1-25million, to help them achieve their business aspirations.
Steve has more than 25 years experience working with NatWest, part of the RBS Group and RBS. He has worked across the East Midlands including Coventry and South Warwickshire and most recently led the Leamington Spa Commercial Banking team. He brings a broad range of specialist skills and experience to the team including business development and relationship management amongst others.
As Director, Steve reports into the new Regional Director for RBS Commercial Banking in the Solent, Anne McPherson, the former head of the Portsmouth and Isle of Wight offices. Steve heads up a 50 strong team that works with customers across a variety of sectors and benefits from a broad range of banking specialists including property, healthcare and Structured Debt Solutions, which supports leveraged transactions. In addition, the Commercial Banking team works closely with colleagues from across the RBS Group, which includes Lombard, the asset finance provider, RBS Invoice Finance and Global Transaction Services, allowing the Portsmouth and Isle of Wight teams to provide a wide breadth of financial solutions.
