KB Event Expands Fleet With Support From Lombard
Nottingham, July 2008 – Entertainment logistics specialists KB Event, whose clients include The Stereophonics, The Prodigy, Cirque du Soleil, Red Bull and Qdos Entertainment Plc, will expand its business with support from Lombard, the asset finance arm of The Royal Bank of Scotland ("RBS").
Established in 1992, KB Event provides reliable, affordable logistics solutions worldwide, from two operating bases, one in Nottingham and one in London. The firm specialises in transport, documentation and project management for the entertainment, conference, and exhibition industries.
In 2008, it became the first UK trucking and logistics company to achieve the environmental standard BS8555. This 'stamp of approval' means that all of KB Event's business decisions, from day-to-day movement of their trucks to purchasing choices and refreshment provisions in the offices, have the environment at heart.
Lombard will provide KB Event with a lease purchase facility of more than £784,500 to provide the company with increased control and flexibility, and allow them to grow with business requirements. During the next five years, the company will expand its existing fleet and purchase 12 new heavy commercial vehicles, including three 18-tonnes Scania Sleeper Cabs, five Scania Tractor Topline units, two 26-tonnes Highline Cabs and two MAN TGL 4x2 Cabs. The RBS Commercial Banking team in Nottingham will continue to provide KB Event with all of their mainline banking facilities.
Leanne McPherson of KB Event said:
"We are proud to be the only UK trucking and logistics company to have the BS8555 standard. With the new funding line put
in place by Lombard, we plan to expand our business and maintain the same very high standard of service we are known for. We have
been impressed with the support and understanding provided by the Lombard and RBS teams and look forward to a long-standing
relationship with them."
Thomas Adams, Business Development Manager for Lombard, said:
"KB Event operates in a growing market and the credit finance line will build a strong foundation for significant revenue
growth opportunities. We are delighted to be working with the team at KB Event and look forward to the opportunity of supporting
more of their future aspirations."
Dianne Raynor, RBS Relationship Manager, added:
"KB Event Limited are 'bucking' the current economic trend for logistic companies, by continuing to expand and
invest in their operation. Stuart and Leanne McPherson have a clear vision for their business, which includes operating to
the highest environmental standards."
