Isle of Man - July 2008 - The Douglas Bay Yacht Regatta, sponsored by Lombard Manx saw a variety of yachtsmen and women competing across three listed racing classes in an event designed to appeal to the skilled yachtsperson as well as those competing for fun.
The regatta which has been running since the 1880s is fast becoming a 'must do' event for yachts, crews and families on the island. Class one for 1720 Sportsboats was won by Chris Hall. Jason Corlett led the way amongst the fast-handicap cruiser racers in Class two and class three of Bilge-Keelers and family fun boats was won by Mike Wilson. In addition to a full programme of racing there was also entertainment provided by the Yacht Club and a barbecue.
