Manufacturing Summit 2012

[08 December 2011], Manufacturers will have their chance to lobby government chiefs on what the sector needs to match international rivals at the UK Manufacturing Summit.

The 2012 summit will be themed on making UK manufacturing internationally competitive and includes a keynote address by manufacturing minister Mark Prisk MP.

Industry leaders including recently announced "Make it in Great Britain" ambassadors, Joe Greenwell, Ford of Britain chair and Will Butler-Adams, MD Brompton Bicycle will outline their views on how UK manufacturers can best approach international competitiveness and what the government needs to do to support them.

Sponsored by Lombard and organized by Findlay Media, IMechE, Royal Academy of Engineers, IET and the ERA Foundation, the 2012 UK Manufacturing Summit will be held on 7 March 2012 at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Birdcage Walk, London.

The event features a Q&A discussion with a panel including MP and All Party Manufacturing Group chair Chris White. There will also be practical breakout sessions, each chaired by a senior industry figure, addressing issues including the role of Government in Manufacturing, Capital Investment, Intellectual Property Protection and R&D Investment and Opportunity.

The 2012 summit marks the third event in this annual UK Manufacturing Summit series. Each year the summit aim is to promote and strengthen UK manufacturing through debate with government, industry keynotes and practical learning.
