[05 August 2011] A golf ace who injured his hand in a cycle crash is back in the saddle and targeting success in the qualifier for the prestigious Lombard Challenge, a PGA Pro-Captain Tournament. Host pro Craig Dun and club captain Alan Beach will be looking to get into top gear at Marriott St Pierre Hotel & Country Club on August 17 where victory will earn them a place in the Turkey final at Antalya Golf Club's PGA Sultan Course from November 25-26.

But Dun, whose preparations have been hampered by the hand injury suffered when falling off his road bike earlier this year, insists he is now back to full fitness and ready to try and reach the £25,000 grand final again having previously reached another final in Bahrain. Other teams in the qualifier include Parc Golf Academy's Richard Dinsdale, who won this event last year, with new captain Mark Channing, Milford Haven's Matthew Hearne and Timmy Phillips, Swansea Bay's Michael Day and Nigel Maimone and Pontypridd's John Wills and Alan Richards.

"My hand broke my fall when I fell off the bike it and took my entire body weight but I've been having physiotherapy ever since and hopefully I'm fit again now," said Dun who has also been a keen marathon runner.
"Once you've been to the final of one of these PGA events, you want to go back again.
"It's a great experience and you get a lot of camaraderie among the professionals and captains.
"I want to make sure I'm in good form for this event, especially as it's at my home club.
"Obviously I haven't played much this year but I'm looking forward to partnering Alan though and he's good to get on with and he can play."

Beach added: "We played in a pro-captain event recently and finished seven under par so I think it's fair to say Craig is okay now.
"The club is looking forward to staging this and it's another honour for us after we also staged the Welsh Amateur Championship this year."
